election day

presidential elections
today
short wait in the early am
even provided a chair while
i waited

happily take the ballot
refuse to vote straight ticket
because I delight in drawing the line
in for my presidential choice

as it looks right now
my choice for prez
has a very very good chance
of making history tonight
being the first
african american president
